Sophie joined LightSail after completing a Master’s dissertation around her experience as a teacher, mentor, volunteer, and researcher in alternative education settings. Previously, Sophie worked as an intern with Navigant Consulting in London. In addition, Sophie spent several months volunteering with Children’s Rights, an advocacy group in Manhattan where she contributed to the policy department’s work on juvenile justice reform. She has a Master’s degree in Social Policy & Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as a BA in Social Anthropology from University of St. Andrews.
Sophie has always loved the beautiful illustrations in William Steig’s Brave Irene, and finds the book’s title character, who trudged through the snow to deliver her mother’s fabulous dress, to be an inspiration.
