Growing up in a family of educators, Elizabeth became passionate about literacy at an early age. She spent five years in Los Angeles teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade at Turning Point School in Culver City. During this time, she implemented a reciprocal reading program, served on the intercultural competence committee, and coached middle school volleyball. Previous to Turning Point School, Elizabeth spent a year working with at-risk 7th-12th grade students at The Charter School of San Diego. Elizabeth has a BA in Humanities from San Diego State University, an MA in Literacy and Language Arts from Loyola Marymount University, and a CA Multiple Subject Credential.
If Elizabeth could be any fictional character, she would be Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus series because she is optimistic, caring, and brings learning to life!
