The Lancaster News reported that Indian Land Middle School won first place in the LightSail Launch Challenge, with students reading 177,442 minutes on LightSail over the four-week contest. ILMS had nearly 1,000 students participate in the challenge, which took place during the entire month of October, and the school won $3,000 worth of premium e-books from LightSail for their accomplishment. “We feel pretty great about winning, but most importantly our students were growing and learning and they were excited to read,” said ILM curriculum director Cheryl Fleischman.
