LightSail founder and CEO Gideon Stein was featured in a recent interview where he discussed the founding of LightSail. The article described LightSail’s goal to get, and keep, students engaged by providing a library of books, texts, and assessments that are appropriate for students’ personal abilities while adapting as they progress.
“The beauty of having embedded, real-time assessment is twofold,” he said. “First, students get immediate feedback on how they are progressing. Along with built-in rewards, this helps motivate them to increase the volume of their reading along with advancing the difficulty of the texts they choose.
