A young man, caught in the rain while on a bicycle ride to Arkham, seeks shelter in an abandoned house. However, he soon realizes that the house is actually not abandoned, and as he converses with the owner about his weird collection of books and artifacts, the young man begins to realize that he never should have entered this strange, secret-filled house.
H.P. Lovecraft’s writing served as the basis for what is now called “The Cthulhu Mythos,” a universe created by Lovecraft and subsequent writers—most famously Lovecraft’s publisher August Derleth—that centered around the horror of “The Great Old Ones.” The Cthulhu Mythos has become influential in popular culture and has inspired numerous books, comics, films, and games.
