School Turnaround Grants

This federal funding source, known as School Improvement Grants under current law, distributes $506 million federal dollars through a competitive application process to support a State’s lowest performing schools. Targeted, locally designed plans are designed to meet student needs and local circumstances, in order to turn around persistently low-achieving schools.
