Student Authored Books

Push the boundaries of creativity, foster a love of writing and enhance literacy pedagogy around the world using LightSail’s Student Authored Books module. Students can publish their very own book right in the LightSail platform! Readers in their class, grade, school, district or across the world can read their book right from the LightSail library.

Additional highlights of this tool include:

• Add an unlimited amount of chapters/sections, the possibilities are endless!
• Include a page for the glossary, cited sources and information about the author
• Embed photos and clips of educational videos from YouTube or Vimeo
• Use the comments tool to give effective feedback and suggestions about edits and revisions
• Assign a peer to help review each students’ book
• Grade each writing piece using customizable rubrics
