LAKE COUNTY NEWS SUN: Gurnee students earn e-books for school library

The Lake County News Sun featured the reading successes of the students at River Trail School in Gurnee School District 56. The school placed third in the nation in The LightSail 25 Reading Challenge, with students reading the equivalent of 19 total hours during the contest. 

“As a class, we have taken part in many competitions and challenges this year, but none have been more exciting, invigorating, and beneficial than this one,” said Vita Carnduff, one of the top 5 teacher winners in the competition. “Never before have I seen a group of students more interested and engaged in independent reading time or in such a hurry to rush into class to celebrate how many minutes they read the night before.”
